I can't get away from the man. On the TV, at the movies, in magazines. Always staring at me with his big bug eyes and that one wonky eyebrow tilted. The guy would attend the opening of a napkin, I swear.
So to recap: Jack Black? Shut up.

Posted by: Keanuette on January 15, 2004 01:34 PMWell, I have heard a bunch of Tenacious D's stuff and Black better not make fun--he can't exactly sing with the best of them either...(and alsmot all of his songs are just comedic kindsa things: nothing like the lyrics from Dogstar) ...he can play guitar and be funny but that's about it. I don't think anyone could ever see him in *any* serious roles. On the other hand, Keanu plays bass well, especially for one who is self taught, and can be seen performing comedy, drama and all things in between (though critics nitpick him anyway)...
Face it: it's just another "Reevesian Review"...you just have to let it go...
Shanice, it was just Jack being snarky about Keanu and Dogstar.
Someone needs to take his ass to a becky show, probably more his style.

Personally, I have never heard of Mr. Black, he has no following whatsoever in *my* part of the world. Keanu does. (Hence the invasion of Dutch girls here lately). He also looks a bit like a slithering, slimey slug. And he probably reeks. Case closed.

I didn't find Keanu, but I think I saw Krix at the base of the blue leg of the transformer that has a blue leg and a yellow leg. A beautiful woman with red hair?
As for Jack Black, I know nothing of him or Tenacious D apart from what I've read in EW but he grossed me out completely with that stupid MTV Two Towers skit they did last year, so this only confirms the bad feelings I have about him.
And to think I almost rented School of Rock... I won't give him that 1 cent or whatever he gets from each rental.

If you say "Keanu" in Italy, you'll neither need to mention a surname, or to say what he is and has done: everybody knows you're talking of The Only and Original One. If you say Jack, and that add Black, and then you say he's a rocker, and also an actor, and you name the band he's in, and all their songs, and the movies he's been in, well 99,9% you'll get: "Never heard of" as an answer. If you want to try with respective pictures, especially with women (well, also a few men, ;-) you'll get dribbling in the former case, and puking in the other...

And now he said that of Keanu...I HAAAAAAAAAAATEEEEEEE HIM!
Keanu should take revenge. He is so much more famous then that Jack Black Loser. He has... POWER!! He should go to a premiere of a JB movie and then laugh loud when JB is TRYING to act. Or he should get an award for 'Best bass player' and then say in his speech that JB sucks( but a polite, sweet, humble and non arrogant person as Keanu would never evah do that!)

Keanu is sincere, handsome, kind and strikes me as having an inner life worth having. As such, he is an easy target for those who possess none of those attributes. I would imagine he is a bit above such criticism as well.
Mr. Black could call me all the names in the book and I would be able to honestly ask, "And you are?" That is the benefit I site for largely ignoring pop culture. I don't expect I am missing much.

I'm fairly sure Jack wasn't being serious here. He has, in the past, publicly given kudos to Keanu for this same thing ("because", he said, "I know how rough it is for me, and he's a bigger star than I probably ever will be."). This was a year or two ago, I think, so I'll be damned (har!) if I can find the article again.
It seems like he was just playing off the reporter's comments...which is, as Zen mentioned, "Jack Black being Jack Black."
Just a little food for thought in case we have a little bandwagon bashing going on here.

Krixy, painfully true. Text is just too impersonal (even with copious emoticons) to get all of the nuances of language through...especially where humor is involved (BOY do I know this). I was fairly certain you were taking it all in jest, but some of the other comments here felt a little "unfair" to me.
