Dear Keanu...

Don't think I don't know how terribly savvy you are to choose to do Something's Gotta Give and play a role so different from Neo to follow up the Matrix films. And while I wasn't excited about it at first (I'm sort of "meh" on romantic comedies), now I have to say....good choice. Quite brilliant, actually.... Surrounded by legends. Working with an esteemed director and great script.....And you did it so well. You worked well with Nicholson and had such wonderful chemistry with Ms. Keaton. Your portrayal of Dr. Mercer was perfect, endearing and funny. Exceptional delivery and timing. And so romantic without being cheezy. You were so wonderful that I think that at one point, every woman in the theater tonight spontaneously ovulated. Even the several there that were well past menopause.

You do realize what this performance is going to do, don't you Keanu?

Every woman on the planet is going to fall madly in love with you after seeing this movie. Oh sure, it's smart and well written and funny and yes, there may be mutterings of "Best Nicholson blah blah" "Diane, so lovely and bold yadda yadda" "Gorgeous cinematography, etc. etc" "Oscar lalalalala".
But also there will be a hormonal surge strong enough to twitch seismographs in other counties as each woman sighs "I'm so in love" to herself as she gazes dreamily at the credits and stumbles through the dark, popcorn cluttered aisle.

Not to mention the ones that loved you already. They will be the gasping, moaning, calling her friends on the way out of the theater parking lot making undecipherable sex noises and "oh my god he's just so...so....UNNNNNNHHHHHH!"- ones

Not that that's a big step for some of us.

*cough*

Now I've got to go sit in the tub and write "Mrs. Dr. Julian Mercer" in the steamed up shower door.

Tell Diane she's hilarious.

xo,

a fan

Me too, I wanna have the "Menu du Jour"! "Sex on Legs" with all the trimmings... but nooo, it's not gonna happen before 02-12-04 in this backwater place called Germany! I'll be counting the hours until then, I promise!!!

I was thinking exactly that...as if KR didn't already have the hearts of millions of women, now he gets the whole crowd of folks who don't know him from Bill & Ted...

And yes, you could literally *feel* the waves of love in the cinema (and it was a fairly mixed crowd, men and women at the showing I attended, although mostly 30+ in age) and yes there were actual muttered exclamations along the lines of "oh my god" "so beautiful" "so hot" "swoon" etc. etc.

OK, admittedly many of those were coming from me...

"I'm so in love.."

Oh yeah.

You say it all so well, krix!

gasping, moaning, calling her friends on the way out of the theater parking lot making undecipherable sex noises and "oh my god he's just so...so....UNNNNNNHHHHHH"!

Oh-yes, that was me, definitely...at one point I could not help myself from saying OUTLOUD,
"he's gorgeous". The font here is not big enough for the love I feel for this man. Oh Keanu, *sigh*, *swoon*, *drool* you were truly magnificant and the movie was great.

krix, you did it again! Entries like these are what keep me coming here every single day. Oh, and um, the yummy pictures of course.

On a different note, there is a huge f***ing snow storm here! *Jumps around, cheers wildly* Sorry. I just had to tell someone and everyone here already knows. *smile* I love snowstorms. I'm off to decorate my tree!

Ok well I must admit I have yet to see the movie but after reading these comments I think I will find myself running to the theater. Keanu, you are such a wonderful person inside and out and well we all know that most hollywood men are vein and self centered. You my dear are not which is a beautiful thing and why your fan's love you so much. Know that you are a blessed and talented man. You deserve all the happiness that this world has to offer you.

I love this sentence. Very clever, :)

"You were so wonderful that I think that at one point, every woman in the theater tonight spontaneously ovulated."

It's very possible that his role as Dr. Julian Mercer may increase the number of females who are willing to become enslaved to his person. I do know one thing in that his career will never be the same again. The "dude-not-anymore" is moving onward and forward. God bless!

My god, Krix, you had ME ovulating just reading that (and trust me, that would most certainly be a miracle!!) Seriously - WOW! I couldn't go last night and can't wait until Friday. I don't normally wish time away but DANG! After I read your entry, these thoughts came to mind: "Batten down the hatches! Swab the decks! Prepare quarters - we have incoming!" Can you imagine how many more MATURE females will be surfing the net, looking for Keanu communities?

Posted by: MC from RD on December 7, 2003 08:01 AM

I couldn't have said it better myself and I haven't even seen the film yet! I'm only 20 and I get overly excited just by seeing the commercials! I can't imagine what the older women must be like when they see him with Keaton. He's so dreamy. Sigh. I love him, I do.

So what you're basically saying is that there'll be a whole lot more grannies throwing panties at him at the becky gigs.

12-12-03 can't come fast enough.

Hmmm

MY...MY...MY...MY...MY, You definitely have a way with your words. This line "Not to mention the ones that loved you already. They will be the gasping, moaning, calling her friends on the way out of the theater parking lot making undecipherable sex noises and "oh my god he's just so...so....UNNNNNNHHHHHH!" You had just read my mind. You go girl!!! ;)

Posted by: Reen on December 8, 2003 08:57 AM

Posted by: laura on December 8, 2003 09:53 AM

Oh my, you've all seen this movie already?
*akward silence* ... *holds back tears* ...
Bwahahahahahahasniffle!

I don't even KNOW when it's going to be released over here :-(

It's WRONG, I tell you, WRONG!!!

I'm glad you all had a thigh-shaking, ovulating-rumbling, *hot* popcorn-popping good time, though :-D

Posted by: Julie! on December 8, 2003 10:23 AM

After reading that "fan" letter, my need to see this movie has increased greatly! But alas, I must wait a few more days. *Sighs*.... And to any new "fans" that might come across this site, sit back and stay awhile, you will soon be hooked on this wonderful man named Keanu!!

Posted by: Lisa on December 8, 2003 12:07 PM

I haven't seen it either Julie!. It comes out on the 12th here, no sneak previews that I know of. But I have my office party on the 12th, and a dinner-party on the 13th. It will be days before I can go. We can cry together. :(

Posted by: Zen on December 8, 2003 03:04 PM

Oh well... I'm so dying to see the movie... but here we'll see only in 03/12/2004! I wanna cry!!! I think I just need Dr. Julian. :(
