Word is that the bass player has a filming schedule conflict and won't be playing with becky on the 14th. They will have a guest bassist and the show will go on, however.

I was still on the fence about making the trip and I would still consider going if it were a weekend and I didn't have to jump through hoops to get the time off and figure out which card to max out. But I think I will save my road trip points for now. I do hope that those in the area still go to the show.

I like both bands with a preference for Dogstar. I think Bret's writing has a lot more soul to it. becky is fun and while you can't understand a lot of the words, it's catchy. I have their songs burned to a CD and listen to it in the car quite a bit, and I really enjoy watching/hearing Keanu play bass with them (although it just might be that I haven't seen him play in two years and he's just gotten better). I tend to listen to the bassline with becky, and with Dogstar I listen to the whole song and especially the lyrics. The other complaint I have with becky is the songs are too short and the best ones have a lot of production effects that aren't heard live. If I lived in LA or they were playing here I would probably go to the show, keanu or not. But he is the weight that tips the scales for me to make a 5 hour drive and go into debt to see the band.

Actually I'm glad Keanu joined Becky. I never really cared for Dogstar, I only went to their cocerts because of Keanu. But I really do dig Becky.
