That's early! Have a great trip!

Posted by: C.C. on June 7, 2003 07:23 AM

I can't read the messages, but good luck and have fun on your trip Krix.

I saw Becky last night at Troubadour and they were OK. You can still tell they are a new group. I love Paulie's enthusiasm! I just wish I could hear Becky's voice more. I like them. even if many of the songs were real short.

Keanu was looking very good. Much better than he usually does in his grungeness. He's lookin lean but not skinny. Even has a bit of color in him. YEAH!! His beard is really full and I love his long hair. Does he have the best GD hair in Hollywood or what?!!! Everyone was jumping around alot, well Paulie was and Keanu joined in a few times. And it was good to see Rob on drums.

One guy in the audience asked Keanu to say "whoa." That was a downer but the evening ended really high with Monique Powell. She really rocked!!

Hope to see a few of ya tonight at the Musician's Institute. Ciao,
Dil

You are fucking hillarious, I hope that you have a good time..Rock on.....

Posted by: whinnymay on June 7, 2003 06:58 PM

You are so cute.

I am smiling and chuckling as I listen to your messages. Thank you for posting the messages, makes us that are unable to be there feel like we are right there with you.

Love you babe. Also, tell Tess hi.

Wishing I was there...

I got to see Ke perform at the Musician’s Institute. Still jazzed! Really enjoyed the group. I checked out everybody’s performance style (Rob was quite good on drums). I have to admit, though, I couldn’t help but focus on Ke’s bass playing. Super cool seeing him performing in person. I think he’s really good. And yes, Dil, I love the long hair and the beard, too. My only regret: that it was a sit-down gig, so I couldn’t bop around. Still managed to rock out at my seat. So glad I went! My daughter (who went with me) said, “I guess you could say Keanu’s an angel.” Meaning that we also discovered the Musician’s Institute as a possible school for her (Gonna check out their open house and see about future enrollment possibilities.) So the evening has been a double treat (understatement)... // And at one point, I was about four feet away from him (after the group exited the stage). *Smiles* Nice way to end an unbelievable week.

Thanks a lot all for your reviews.
I heard that Keanu Reeves is dating Sandra Bullock now someone from another board told
after the show at the Troubadour.
How was the afterparty on Saturday? Did anyone here go?

Posted by: angela on June 8, 2003 03:07 AM

Can someone please tell me if its true--did Keanu give away millions of bucks to the crew of Reloaded, or not?

Posted by: kowgurl on June 8, 2003 06:55 AM

Watching MOPI. // Humming Becky‘s “Rainy Day” (and wishing I was more familiar with Becky‘s songs).
During Tune In Tomorrow, where Pedro Carmichael speaks of the impact of reality,
the Viper Room concert comes to mind. Wish I could see it, ‘cuz the room will probably rock
(as I heard it did at the Troubadore). Should be another fun gig. *smiles*
(I'll have to check out Becky's Viper Room action one of these times.)

Posted by: phoenix IX on June 8, 2003 08:05 AM

Orgasm uh? I may have to check out the Viper Room afterall.

Posted by: Tyler on June 8, 2003 08:24 AM

Cheers for those! Vicarious thrills!

Yeah the Musician's Institute was great. They interspersed with musical acts from the students. Some were really good and I give them all kudos for going up on stage and presenting themselves to the public.

I fell in love with Suburban Legends. I really got into them and got tired just watching them. Their choreography was so exciting. They emphasise brass and were sorta like a rock version of Herb Alberta and the Tiajana Brass Band on speed!!!

Becky was not bad and if you had been to the Troubadour show on Friday night, Phoenix IX, you'd note that Keanu got a haircut Saturday cause his hair was shorter Sat. night. He was in good form and Paulie kept the energy high. Rebecca's vocal were more audible and she sounded OK althogh I still want to hear her voice more.

A different kind of evening and everyone was in good spirits.. some more than others. I didn't make the after party.. we (the hottest state, from RD) drove to Sunset and Formosa? for the Falcon restaurant but didn't see it. We did Keanu leave the MI. He was in a good mood and was very accommodating it appeared.

I'm sure I saw you there Phoenix IX but just didn't know you.. same for Krix. I had on the bright Lime green top and black Capri pants and was rockin' out with Suburban Legends on the far left side on the auditorium.

Hey, anyone else notice how it was the men in the crowd who kept calling for Keanu? At MI and the Troubadour. Ciao, Dil

Hey, you can go to Suburban legends home page at www.suburbanlegends.com/main.shtml

They have bios on the band (guys) and a video clip. Not to mention lyrics from their upcoming CD (Rump Shaker) and where they'll be performing next (they're doing a lot of grad nights at Disneyland it seems). :) They seem to have a lot of energy. A friend of mine saw them perform and she LOVED them!! So, I thought I'd see what I could find on google. God bless the Internet. ;)

Krix, I'm glad you had a good time!! Your voice message after the show was priceless!! :)

Have fun!

How was the after party on Saturday? Did anyone go and did anyone see any members of the band there?

Posted by: angela on June 9, 2003 04:03 AM

Krix, you are great. For a moment I thought I'm there with you...good feeling. Thanks for sharing your happiness.Wish you the best time ever!

Posted by: saragobe on June 9, 2003 05:01 AM

Hi, Dil. I love your recap. I went see Becky, and got treated to a delightful evening of all kinds of good music. You’re right about Suburban Legends –a very talented and amazingly energetic group! * smiles *

Had I known you, Dil, I would have said “Hi”!*. . . same for you, too, Krix. (I was on the right side of the auditorium, in black lace-up sweater and cargo pants.) Thanks for confirming that hottest was there. I thought I saw her, but wasn’t sure (it’s been a couple of years). And being with my daughter, I didn’t get to pursue the hunch. Nice that you and Hottest hooked up.

About the afterparty -- A super swell idea. At the last minute, I’d decided to take advantage of that fun op. Just in a hurry and hadn’t jotted down restaurant name or address. // If anybody went, it would be cool to get some feedback.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Your reports from the Viper Room were priceless Krix! Thanks for the laugh! I'm glad that you introduced yourself to Mr. Reeves-feathery sleeves and all! :) You rock!! I guess the New Zealander guys (from StereoGram) were hot huh?? :) I wonder if Access Hollywood will air something tonight? I'll have to check! Damn paparazzi! :) Glad you had fun!!!

Posted by: Natasha on June 10, 2003 08:16 AM

Oh! Natacha!!! -Or anyone else with a kind heart- Please take pity on us *poor people* who don't have sound on their 14th century computers and can't hear the voicemonkey messages!!! I've been feeling so left out! Boohoo! What happened???
Did they have fun? Did she introduce herself as the cool chick from the cool site? *aaawww*
That would be so great! I'm beaming with happiness for her already, and I don't even know if it really happened! And, did she tell them to get their ehm... 'behinds' over to Europe? YAHOO!!!! -I'm sorry, I'm getting over-enthousiastic here :-) And, ehm... What about the orgasm Tyler left a comment about here ;-0 *woops*

But most puzzling; Why does he have feathery sleeves? :-D Was it a fashion statement? ;-D Was the gig sponsored by Kentucky fried chicken???
Oh god, all these questions! My little blonde mind starts to hurt! *ouch*!

I can't hear the reports. Am I doing something wrong?

Posted by: Chris on June 10, 2003 10:10 AM

Awsome! Road trip!

I made a matrix spoof comic for you and you're gone. Oh well, I'll just post it here. *gets ready for the waves of hate mail*

Wish I could hear the reports, too.

To hear the voice entries: Click on a link in the above entry and it downloads a .m3u file (latest.m3u). Be connected to the internet and open the .m3u file in iTunes (mac) or Winamp (PC). Windows Media Player might work too. I haven't tried it yet. It is AUDIO so turn on the speakers!

Sorry Julie. I wasn't ignoring you, I had gone out and now I'm back at the computer. Here's Krix's most recent (last) voice message. I tried to transcribe it the best I could. :) Enjoy!

"Hi, it's me. I just introduced myself to Keanu Reeves and he said, "Hi Krix, thanks for coming out." It was very exciting. I shook his hand with my feathery sleeves and everything. I'm, I just, wow. Hee Hee Ha Ha. The shows over. I hope the first recording for becky went through (all I heard was static and clapping at the end, but nice try Krix!). ;) Um, I'm like there's six inches of air above my feet and rising (I think Krix meant she's floating on air!). So, um, yeah haw! I don't know if we're going to stay for Metal Shop or not? Um, I've got the tremors. Giggle giggle. Anyway, he was very polite, his hair's a mess, still grungy beard, same clothes as Saturday night it sure looked like. Becky was great, Paulie was great. Couldn't see Rob as usual. Um, other than that um, I'm sure I'll have to parse (??) this all later. That's all. Bye bye." -Krix

:)

Julie...I have had trouble hearing the reports too, but I did hear a few. Apparently Krix introduced herself to Keanu and shook his hand and he thanked her for coming out to the show. She is the one who had the feathery sleeves, not Keanu. She in fact said that he appeared to have the same clothes on at the Viper Room that he had on Saturday night. She was very excited (as I'm sure we would all be) and said she would catch us all up later. What a lucky girl!!

Posted by: Lisa on June 10, 2003 02:38 PM

Yeah Lisa, I posted a transcript for Julie and others that couldn't hear them, right above what you wrote. :)

Posted by: Natasha on June 10, 2003 02:53 PM

Thank you so much Natasha and Lisa!!!!!!!!!! *smooch* :-) And another! *SMOOOOOOOCH*!!!!

OMG, that sounds so great!!!! Just reading it makes me giggle! She must be so completely and totally happy! :-) Wow, that's amazing! He actually spoke the word 'Krix' out loud! Wouldn't it be great if she had recorded that, too? -I can't hear it, but just the thought makes me giggly- Aw!

And thank goodness by the way, for the feathery sleeves misunderstanding! :-D For a girl that's cute, but, ehm...I was a bit worried and had strange visions on how it would look like on HIM ;-) I mean, with his fashion-sense you just never know... *said lovingly* ;-)

Again thank you so much for writing it down!!! :-)

Posted by: Julie on June 10, 2003 03:06 PM

WOOHOO krix got to meet Keanu!!!! I'm so happy for her! Can't wait to hear all about it, if she can come down off her cloud long enough. Way to go girl!!

There's a moment in our lives that, although inconsequential to others, seems to change all that we think, say or do...

It is very real to you and that's all that matters. Drink it in and thanks for sharing with those who have experienced a similar moment.
Years later, when everyone has forgotten why, you will still smile and remember what you felt... and the feeling is what matters...and passing it on to others is what remains. Thanks, Krix!...and I heard it was more like a moth's brush of a delicate wing than a "feather". Of course Ive had a bit of fermented grape tonite, too...

Posted by: T on June 10, 2003 07:02 PM

thanx Natasha and Lisa!
:)

Posted by: phoenix IX on June 11, 2003 06:07 AM

COOOOOOOOL!

I sound like a dork! LOL

Great stuff krix!

I'm kinda gutted I didn't go to see Reloaded with you. I opted for doing the 'tourist' thing instead.

Posted by: Keanuette on June 11, 2003 06:52 AM

BIG thanks for transcripting my message for those that couldn't get the audio.

Dil, I'm so sorry we missed each other. Next time, eh?

OH! I'm SOOOO Bummed that the becky music was too loud to carry on the message. I was much closer to the stage than when Steriogram played (their music sort of came through).
Um, the Steriogram guy on the voicemonkey was Tyson, the vocalist.

Also sorry I didn't get any pictures, but I wasn't about to risk being tossed out of either venue. It's been too long since I've been able to watch Keanu get his bass on and I needed to absorb every second.

Thank you ALL for the comments, it was great to come back to.

XXXOOOXXX!

You're welcome Julie, Phoenix and Krix! :) I guess we could call this blog entry: Krix's Excellent L.A. Adventure! ;)
