Stompanato?
Reeves, Zeta-Jones eyeing 'Stompanato'

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Keanu Reeves and Catherine Zeta-Jones are circling a movie about Johnny Stompanato, the hoodlum killed by the teen daughter of his girlfriend, actress Lana Turner.

Adrian Lyne ("Unfaithful") is attached to direct "Stompanato," which has landed on the steps of Warner Bros. Pictures but has not yet made the studio its home.

Stompanato, a World War II vet-turned-small-time hood and wannabe actor, was killed on Good Friday 1958 in the Beverly Hills home of Turner by 14-year-old Cheryl Crane. The death was ruled as justifiable homicide, but rumors flew that Crane and Stompanato had been lovers, while other rumors flew that Turner actually killed Stompanato and let her daughter take the rap.

Reeves, last in theaters with "Constantine," just completed work on Warners' "Il Mare," a time-travel romance that reunited him with "Speed" partner Sandra Bullock. Zeta-Jones returns to theaters in the fall with "The Legend of Zorro."

Reuters got this via HR and left out a small but important fact:
"the dealmaking has not started"
What will it be if it ever takes off, a biopic la "Aviator",
only with mob ties and domestic violence, or...?
I hope I'm not the only one who's not cheerily optimistic about this?
*hugs*

It is a departure for sure & I was feeling less cheery until I read this 2001 article. It mentions things like "anti-hero" and "narrates" and "wild sex" all things that Keanu could so be the perfectly cast in...and think of the Italian suits and shoes...
I have a busload of faith that, if Keanu was to choose this role, he would make it redeeming. Unveiling Hollywood myths...might be a plan...

Can't go wrong with that director. Oscar material, I hope it develops:)

I'm hoping this one does fly....I like my keanu not involved in anything that hints as sex with a minor or beatings...altho he did an excellent job in the gift...damn near killed me to see it but he nailed it. sigh, I'm just a bit nervous about this one ;/

"he's also legendarily well endowed"

okay..well thats why they want Keanu for the role,then..all makes sense..

Stompanato!

Get it? Stomp...never mind. My attempt at a terrible joke, but that was the first thing that came to mind when I read that on Keanuweb.

Can you imagine Reeves in Stomp?

Tell me I'm not the only one...*giggle*

Didn't they create a dance called "Keanu Stomp"
way back when somewhere, based on his movements in PoP?

I remember hearing about that Niobe!
Krix, if you don't post something soon we can all just talk to each other....OK? lol
