What? No puppet show?

Thanks to Angel of KeanuFan.com for finding more details on the event that becky is scheduled to perform at in July...

Ridgefest '04!

It's a good thing I wasn't planning on going as I see there's a petting zoo.

I still have issues from a childhood llama trauma.

OK, I hate to be Mistress of Snark, but what is up with that? It looks like a retirement village! How do they get the Bacon brothers, and Becky ("featuring Keanu Reeves"?) Maybe Erwin Stoff's mother is retired there?

I am deeply troubled. Deeply. Wouldn't they rather play at a place like, oh, The Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill? I mean, Todd Rundgren played there last week! It isn't LA, but we have a music scene. From what I am told. *wink*

nudel, if they play in Chapel Hill, I'm there. If you'll put me up for the night, that is. ;)

Do retirement villages have petting zoos?

How convenient - the Miss Hawaiian Tropic contest concludes Saturday night on the "main stage." All those bikini-clad coconut oil-scented lovelies can just bite me. And if there is one greasy fingerprint on Mr. Reeves, may they be plagued with thong itch.

There are going to be clowns too. Yikes. At least they don't mention mimes.

Ok, now I'm the one who needs a new keyboard!
LOL @ nudel, otherwise known as "Mistress of Snark"! You maybe on to something there with that Erwin Stoff connection. ;)
But it does seem like a bit of a strange venue for them to be playing at. But hey atleast they're branching out and getting to play at new locations!
Krix I want to hear more about the llama trauma. You can't just put something like that out there and then not tell the story! Pleeeeeeease!!

Friends, connections, perhaps plain old cash...

...I figure it's probably one of these. It's quite the competition to see who can have the most impressive "community festival." It's right up there with who can give the most impressive wedding. It's a strange culture I think LOL!

The way I see it, if I can meet Keanu Reeves while I'm at the concert...and he either knows or has worked with Kevin Bacon...that puts me ONLY 2 DEGREES of Kevin Bacon!...inchin' my way up from 6, oh yes!

krix!!! you are the wittiest!!! OMG...i have childhood llama trauma too!!!! but i'm all grown up now( depending on who you ask!!) O K!!!

I have no idea what Kenau and Becky have to deal with this strange place. Did you have a look at their community profile ? Classified by races. I do not like that at all, no way!

Posted by: Julian on May 27, 2004 08:11 AM

I don't care where they play, it's in my home state, so I'm going. I look at it this way, if Keanu and gang don't like the atmosphere maybe they'll be willing to crash at my place.

I do find it odd that 2 "celebrity bands" are involved in this. Somebody in the planning office must have connections. Maybe there's a charity or something like involved. That would be nice.

llama trama? llauma trauma? dude, that's so totally non-heinously hilarious! or maybe not, depending on the story...will we hear it?

yeah, "featuring Keanu Reeves" really gets my goat, too. heh, i bet they have goats at the petting zoo. okay, now i'm rambling... maybe because i'm leaving today for a 10 day beach trip? wheeeee!

I think that the "profile" page is a standard page of census statistics, typical information for this type of municipal website. I wouldn't give it too much thought.

My llama trauma involved an ice cream cone full of food, 1 spitting llama and the laughter and pointing of my entire 5th grade class. Thankfully it was the end-of-the-year field trip so none of the cruel nicknames stuck.

That llama story does sound pretty awful. *Offers consoling hugs to Krix* You obviously came across one cantankerous llama that day not to mention your classmates!

Yes...I think Becky will be a little out of place in Chicago Ridge...heck, I'd be a little out of place in Chicago Ridge! Still, in the end....who cares WHERE they play so long as they keep playing...um, and the closer to the East Coast the better!

I'm deeply moved by your llama trama Krix...I hope you've fully recoverd *hugz*

...ok...maybe a lot out of place.
