the wayback machine

3 dogboy night

Most of us are aware that Dogstaronline.com, the official website is no more. I'm not even making that a live link because it's just too depressing and I don't even know if it's forwarding to a bunch of pop-up ads or what these days.

What some of you may not know is that you can still look up those lyrics, read old newsletters and band bios and see some of the pictures by using The Wayback Machine, aka archive.org.

If you're feeling nostalgic for the Dog old days, go take a look around. You can even go back to that ugly puke green version they had for a while.

History Light - by Dogstar

I am so blind tonight from the history light
Everything that's ever happened to me
Is in my head tonight
It's kinda nice not to see another sight
'Til I rest awhile
And all I need is sleep
Rest awhile - sleep - like a child
Sleep - rest awhile - sleep
I am so high tonight from the history light
Everything that's ever been said to me
Is in my head tonight
It's kinda nice not to hear another sound
'Til I rest awhile
And all I need is sleep
Rest awhile - sleep - like a child
Sleep - rest awhile - sleep
I am so blind tonight from the history light
Everything that's ever happened to me
Is in my head tonight
It's kinda nice not to see another sight
'Til I rest awhile
And all I need is sleep
Rest awhile - sleep - like a child
Sleep - rest awhile - sleep

I haven't changed much about keanuvision (besides just adding to it) but you can check it out from the beginning as well. The wayback to my old blogspot blog is kind of interesting...

Krix...you have such a way with lyrics

Aw.... Looking at your old blog makes me feel all motherly inside :-) Like watching a toddler grow up or something.
Which is absolutely ridiculous, because your blog was here before me, LOL!
*gets a bit emotional* Awww.... :-)

I must re-read all those entries one day, so I can giggle at your jokes and stuff again :-)

Tho I often use archive.org for all things business,
I needed you to remind me there are other things between heaven and earth,
like the Doggies' green, ugh...
*sniff* I had so utterly, totally, completely fogotten about it!

beautiful lyrics... sounds like good advice!

Posted by: wanda on May 20, 2004 06:00 PM

"At one point he held his bass out and thumped it aginst his chest and ROARED at us."

This is SO worth it...no time now, but I will definitely be spending time at krix's wayback machine..

*sniff* now I'm all sentimental.

and yeah, julie!, this is way before me too!

I loved your orignal blog! Great fun. I read and read until one of the children in the computer lab had a question. :-) You're still clever after all these years....

Wish I could have been there but I hadn't been offered the red pill yet.

Thanks for passing the info. along. I had no idea such a thing existed. :)
I could spend all day looking back at this stuff, unfortunately time does not permit that. :(
I have to comment on a particular banner I came across at the top of a page (I don't remember which one). It was the one that had a small Gorman photo on the left and then a large close-up picture of his eyes to the right. *SIGH* I just love those eyes!!
Krix you have a wonderful knack for putting together just the right photos! Thank you! :-D

Hey Krix...guess what? I had already been to the archives of this site long before this entry...because, well,...I'm just that way :p But I hadn't seen the "beginning" before...what a hoot!

...and Janice, I've been a lurker before now on your site as well -- very cool. I'm afraid I'm the type who doesn't leave many footprints on the net...Krix, yer just special....awwww :-)

...now please excuse me, there are some children here with some questions

Posted by: shelz on May 21, 2004 07:55 AM

Am I doing something wrong? When I click on the wayback site, all I get are "site under construction" pages by network solutions... *sob*

Posted by: Nudel on May 22, 2004 09:33 AM

nudel, I just tried and it works for me on aol/ie5.x.
Try going to archive.org and then entering in the site name yourself.

some times the individual pages give an error but you shouldn't be getting a NetSol page.

Thanks! It worked fine for your blog, but for Dogstar I had to fire up IE. Damn, that was a fugly green...but kewl, I'm sure.

Thanks for the help!

I have been a benefits consultant for the folks at Internet Archive for years...and it is SO cool to hear how people use their technology! Offtopic, but you guys would LOVE the programmers behind the Wayback Machine. They are such geeks and so much fun. I swear, if you look up "geek" in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of Brewster Kahle, their founder and fearless leader. ;)
