Billy Jacked

(via keanuweb)
So, Variety reports that the deal for the remake of Billy Jack has been re--made and Keanu probably won't be part of the new deal.

I never saw the original, so while I'm bummed for Reeves (losing work is losing work), I'm not going to lose sleep over this. Actually, from speaking to some friends that know and love the original, it's probably just as well.

Remember what I said about a gut feeling that keanu wouldn't do this movie? Maybe that wasn't about his decision not to accept the part, but about the deal falling apart. Hmmm. And, take it from someone who does know and love the original, I BELIEVE it's for the best.

Diff'rent strokes -- or maybe the idea just needs time to percolate in my head -- I'd never considered KR as Billy Jack, but I can see him doing the part proud.

He certainly has the skills, I think. I can't think of another A-list western actor that could pull off the martial arts, but I don't think of other A-list actors much at all. Even though I never saw the original, I think that having an actor that can do his own fighting has to make a world of difference in a movie.
